That's one reason why I *don't* recommend MM Tea. {shudders at the thought
of ANYTHING anise}. Not only is it awful, but in most situations, it's not
*extremely* effective. In order for it to be medicinally effective, the
mother would need to drink significant quantities (3-4 cups a day) and
people generally don't steep teas long enough to get the therapeutic dose
they need (20-30 minutes). That's why I always recommend a tincture. Unless
the mother enjoys drinking tea and drinks tea on a regular basis, she will
be more likely to take a tincture than the amount of tea she would need to
see results.
Tinctures are good for 3-5 years (as opposed to about 1 year maximum on
dried herbs, and about half that time if the herbs have been powdered, such
as in capsules), and a little goes a long way. She can add the tincture to
juice in order to mask the noxious taste. Tinctures are generally a lot more
potent than teas (because they're able to extract more of the properties of
the herb), so are generally a lot more effective.
