Kathy, so long as the baby is healthy, well nourished and is receiving
adequate amounts of "other milk" whilst building the mothers supply back to
normal then high sodium levels in involuting milk wont be a problem. The old
nappy count of wees and poos will still be a good guide to allay any fears
you may have of this being a potential problem.
As well as in involution secretions, sodium levels are also high (relative
to mature milk) in pre term milk and colostrum.
