I think that we need to realize our limitations as IBCLCS. When a
situation presents itself with multifaceted aspects, and a strong
psychological component, I sometimes have to pass the counseling end of
things over to the person who is qualified to do this work, in the
psychological realm..the licensed mental health counselor, etc.
I have met up with my boundaries a few times in the past 15 years, and it
is always clear to me when this occurs, and when to pass the person on to
someone who is better qualified to help them.
