I've been a principal player in the orchestra's of St. Louis, Toronto and
the Casals Festival as well as having been a member of the Boston Symphony,
hence can speak from experience. There is good music be it classical,
jazz or pop, as well all genre mentioned have more then their share of bad
music. While classical is by far my preferred listening mode I certainly
listen to the other's as well. I don't see how a statement that the "New
York Philharmonic's concertmaster whose true artistry is now doubtful for
me..." is valid. If Mr. Dicterow wants to unwind by.......taking a
break....... I don't see where that diminishes his artistry, if nothing
else have knowledge of every sphere of music which only broadens your own
abilities as an artist.
