In ref. to the safety of echinacea:
I attended a conference last month with Dr. Lowdog at which she spoke of the safety of echinacea, both in pregnancy and lactation. I have great respect for Tom Hale's work--he has done so much to protect bf'ing when moms need meds--but he bases his opinions of herbs primarily on lack of information. We need to look to the experts on herbs--herbalists and naturopaths--not allopathic references, for accurate information about herbs. It is extremely arrogant, IMO, to assume "evidence" refers only to allopathic sources.
