Yup. But actually, pretty much everything is public; or is only one
misunderstanding, or one trivial social betrayal, or one ordinary faux pas,
away from being public.
How many spouses, even, can honestly say that in a long marriage they have
never inadvertently revealed something their spouse thought was private?
And Lactnet is no marriage, intimate though it often is.
My husband once worked for a very wise judge who told him, "Never do
anything, at all, that you would regret when it eventually is printed on the
front page of the New York Times." I have taken these as words to live by,
especially when chatting with 2000 other people.
