"If milk from tested and screened humsn donors is pasteurized and sold, what is the problem? People buy pasteurized milk from tested and screened cows and goats all the time. The cow-milk industry pervades our society. Now it is selling cow milk in containers that will fit the cup holders in a car, to increase their share of the drinks market. The public schools and WIC push cow milk on people. The public sees cow milk and cow milk products as the only way to get calcium in one's diet, which is not the truth."
I think most everyone on this list knows I am opposed to cow milk consumption for any human being. So, I would be the first to support a marketing strategy that would make people think that "regular" milk came from a human mother and not a cow mother. But, the high value of cow milk in our culture has done nothing for the quality of life of cows and their infants (especially their sons). Making milk a product separate and distinct from the mother whose body made it in response to the needs of her own infant makes me cringe.
