Sounds like bottles aren't the only devices that babies can prefer. I actually never thought that a baby may just prefer fingers and SNS to actually making the effort to improve his sucking technique. Maybe switching over to cup feeding for any supplementation ( which seems the only method not requiring "sucking" that I can think of)  would "wean" the baby from alternate methods and encourage him to get back to the breast.
