Years ago, before Martek, there was a Japanese company called Intelli-Choice
that made DHA capsules for adults and for kids (Einstein, and Einstein Jr.).
They got their DHA from the eye-socket fat of tuna fish. They had a
contract with tuna fisherman. Once the tuna were caught, they were sent to
a processor who chopped off the heads. The heads were shipped to
Intelli-Choice, you removed the fat from the eye sockets. The heads were
then sent on to a dog-food manufacturer for chopping up to make into dog
food. The tuna-fish eye-socket fat was then processed to get DHA. TMI (too
much information)?
