Seen today in the comics:
Marvin, by Tom Armstrong
Marvin is a baby boy who appears to be about 10-12 months old. In the
first panel, he and his mother are sitting on the floor. She is showing
him the sign for "drink", saying to him "..and whenever you're hungry,
instead of crying just use this sign language for 'Drink'."
The next 3 panels are at night, with Marvin in his room alone in the
dark, standing up holding the rail of his crib.
First, he has a goofy expectant grin on his face, making the sign for
"drink".
In the next one, he continues grinning while he waits.
In the last one, his expression changes to a goofy one of suspicion and
distrust, while his thought, in the bubble over his head, is: "I believe
I'm beginning to see a flaw in this communication system."
A sly jab at Ezzo? Certainly a good visual aid for Jan Barger and others
who are trying to "un-Ezzo-ize" breastfeeding and baby care!
