And this from a former subscriber...There is a difference between calling a
spade and spade and going beyond, into the personal. There is that burden
of responsibility, and also a burden of responsibility for those who see
themselves in a "scenario" to react with curiosity instead of blank
defensiveness.
Everyone can learn from this...both those who feel like venting and those
who feel that they are the ventees.
Unfortunately. Kathleen
"I have had it with the name calling and so forth.
I had enjoyed reading (and thought) adding to this site.
But is just too "Zealot and High minded" for this plain old
NICU nurse to handle any more.
I have strived to educate myself in lactation, for my own knowledge and
to help my patients. I had looked to those with more
knowledge on "LACTNET" , to add to this knowledge, but I
have been "turned off". I had seriously thought about becoming an CLC
but now I am not so sure. Haven't felt like that in a long time.
Hope you all enjoy yourself. I will look else were for
assistance and knowledge. I now see glimpse of what some
of the other nurses I work with (those not encouraging breastfeeding)
were expecting from me, when I stated the breastfeeding
information, support and teaching in our unit. It is really hard to
convince others to support you when you see / read some of the
attitudes I have over the last few days.
Still working for mom's and babies, just not on this site. "
