Pat-
What I'm seeing most often is that many babies are nursing on both sides for
the first few days---sometimes back and forth, back and forth, until the
surge in milk supply. At that time their eyes grow wide with delighted
astonishment as they drink to their fill, dropping off drunk after only one
breast. Some are looking for more after fifteen or twenty minutes (when CCK
levels drop back to baseline?) and others don't look for "dessert" for
several weeks, if ever.
