I had one desperate mom who found that her 2-month-old would take the
breastbottle when mom returned to work, whereas baby wouldn't take anything
else that had been tried.

I had her go to the website and check it out. She ordered one and is most
pleased. She said that it leaked at first until she learned how to use it
properly. "When the milk is placed in the bottle, it can't be set down like
the picture shows it at the website? If you have to hold it so milk doesn't
touch
the valve, you would need to set it down by placing it upside down in
the holder."

Actually the creators of the bottle *are* dedicated to breastfeeding, and
created this bottle for the sole purpose that the above mother used it. I
forget who designed it but it is a "breastfeeding family." It is not to be
considered as a gadget "most like feeding at the breast" so that a mother
can think that she doesn't "have to breastfeed."

The bottle is so uniquely shaped that it is not going to appeal to the
casual "get me away from this baby" kind of mother. In fact, one
grandmother refused to use it because it looked "weird." If a mother used
it, she would most likely rather have baby at the breast than feed with the
breastbottle in a public place.

I doubt that every reluctant bottler would take this bottle, but it seems
to have helped some.

The reason that many of you haven't heard of it is that the designers were
testing it through a small sampling of LCs, getting feed-back as to its
acceptability from mothers and babies.
