To answer Deanne: Just as babies (and children) are not small adults,
preemies are not just small babies. I'm not talking about the 34 weekers
here, but the 25-32 week infants that we now routinely care for in US
neonatal units. Extra precautions in the handling of milk intended for them,
as well as meticulous cleaning of the equipment, is in order, especially for
the teeny babies.
Hey, Deanne-how about posting your Newman's (with the clotrimazole tab) on
Lactnet as well?
Jennifer Cox, MD
