SI Unit Conversion Guide, by M. Laposata
published by NEJM in 1992, ISBN 0-910133-38-7
(SI refers to the 'international' system of units, which usually means the
whole world except the USA)
Conversion factor for serum glucose values, from traditional to SI: multiply
by 0.05551
To convert from SI, which mmol/L are, to mg/L, which is 'traditional':
divide by 0.05551.
This is the year 2001. Aren't you glad you have a calculator built in to
your computer?
BTW, 2.6 mmol/L is just under 47 mg/L. OK for a baby but most of us would
be unpleasantly snappish. Time for a snack!
