Enabling Women to Breastfeed (see previous posts) is very good,
succinct and common-sensicle about this, pointing up gaps in research.
The book maintains that 'it is likely that a proportion of the women
who abandon bf because of nipple pain and trauma, or because of
'insufficient milk' have babies with this condition. If the treatment
[that is snipping] is as effective and simple as is suggested, this
discontination could be prevented.'
I can't see any evidence for anyone to be dogmatically *against*
treating tongue tie, even if they are not convinced of the need for
it.
