Hello all,
Yaffa mentioned the Medela storage bags for freezing. I have recently had a
mother who purchased the Medela bags from our center during her Back to Work
appointment. She carefully froze her milk in them. All of it went bad. I
cannot come up with any reason for the milk spoilage. Could it have been the
bags? The freezer was the frost free type which does have a warming cycle to
get rid of the frost, but no other food was bad. The mother feels that it
was the bags. No one else has complained of the bags other than to say they
are too expensive. Anyone else with a similar example? I do not want to
toss the bags over one incidence, but if there is a pattern developing, I
want to know ASAP.

P.S.
I have requested that our hospital lactation center be put on the internet so
that we can readily access lactnet on site. I'll let you know if that part
of my budget request gets the OK.
