That's what I was wondering about too.  Like I said, blood in the stools can
sometimes be caused by the mother's nipples bleeding.  Mucous is caused by
too much foremilk sometimes isn't it?  The two combined would cause mucousy
bloody stools.  I think the doctor should rule out a cows milk allergy
instead of just assuming that is what it is.  (Note, I am not calling the
doctor stupid...I am just saying that is what I would want my doctor to do
if it were me).
