FYI: A friend's ped had reassured her that baby didn't need frenotomy
(mom had had one as an infant) because there were no bf problems, even
though babe had really short frenulum. Now, at 4 1/2 yrs., dtr. needs
frenulum clipped due to speech problems. B/c she hates having anything
put in her mouth, it must be done under general anesthesia so she won't
move! Yes, my friend really wishes she had pushed to have it clipped.
So...all those docs who say to wait and see if there are speech
problems...it would be easier to take care of these issues during
infancy.
