Well the peds doc I work with-in a practice of 6 peds- is finally thinking of
going it on his own! (our office has been in horrible turmoil since february
when 2 very different offices of 3 peds each merged:() ) He is starting all
the financial looking, and here is where I -and 2000 or so of my closest
resources-come in. He would like to make me a direct and important "partner"
of sorts in this practice. My goal is IBCLC certification in 2001. He
wants-or would like-me to do rounds with him. ie- he does admission of
newborn-normal healthy etc, and then I would round, do bfdg and discharge
teaching after initial day 1. I already have an "in" at the 2 local
hospitals, but I am wondering about the logistics of doing rounds.
If you have any input, billing codes, salary ranges, etc, please email me
privately or to list with suggestions, ideas, etc. I know some of you have
been working on fee schedules privately and I am going to hunt archives for
your name, so be on the lookout for my query. Any contact names you can give
with additional info is greatly appreciated.
I think if this goes thru it will be a big benefit to our community. Sound
bfdg info from delivery to postpartum to newborn follow up and beyond...all
by the same voice!
OOOOH, I am so excited!
