Pat: I chuckled when I read your "can't get elephants from ants." When I
had an emergency c/section after 48 hours of active stage labor (my first
son at UCLA CHS) the resident in attendance said "that's what you get for
marrying such a big guy with such a big head!" My husband is 6'1" and I'm
5'2" and our first son's head was 15.5" in circumferance AFTER being
compressed (his dents in his head lasted 2 months). To make this
bf-relevant, this baby was a champion nurser in spite of long labor Prostin
gel, pit, morphine and epidural (not until 36 hours though). Then, the
recovery room nurse said "Oh dear, don't punish yourself-- you just an
episiotomy bypass!"
