Many good things have been said about logs. I found them useful in the early
days with my two boys. However, here is a note of caution. If a HCP gave me a
log and told me to fill it out, I might feel a bit undermined, as if the
person did not believe I would feed my baby enough. Instead, when a HCP
suggested I do that for my own peace of mind, I thought that was great.
Also, I got a log in one of those "sample packs" the hospital gave me for my
second child. It had only eight spaces! I can't help but imagine the mother
who fills out the form and sees, at 6:00 pm, that she's filled them all up!
"Oh goody, no more nursing today Junior. It says here you're finished!" Then
there's slow gain, FTT, all ending with baby being formula fed with
guess-which-brand!
On my log, I had no less than 15 nursings each day!
