Many years ago there was a tv show in the US called Cagney and Lacey. They
were two women cops. This was before I had children, but this really stuck
with me. Lacey approached a suspicious woman w/ a baby and her instincts led
her to be uncomfortable with the way the mother interacted w/ the baby. She
made small talk w/ the woman and ulimately asked her how much the baby
weighed at birth. The woman said she couldn't remember. Lacey arrested her
after telling her the exact weights of her 3 children and confronting her as
a kidnapper--a mother never forgets, she said. Seems there's another number
we never forget!
