Well, this is exactly why the word formula should not be used. Right--human
milk diluter (oh, sorry, I mean fortifier, how silly of me) is formula,
because essentially formula is modified cow's milk. Human milk diluter
(there I go again) is just as essential as any formula. Occasionally
helpful, but mostly overused because physicians nurses and nutritionists who
work in the NICU's have no confidence in breastmilk and trust what the
"scientists" at Mead Johnson tell them. But the rep inadvertently let the
cat out of the bag. HMD and pregestemil are the same stuff. Actually not,
but we wouldn't like science to get in the way of economics.
Do I sound bitter? No, just fed up and tired.
