Phyllis, Heather and Brenda,
This is in a way 'acknowledging' that they have been made aware of the
'need' to Breastfeed- Special Care Nursery Babies.
In 1990, while working in Wodonga, Victoria, Australia. On my birthday, I
was duely presented with a Huge Maternity bra, with Huge Pink nipples,
inserted in the nipple-position, as a reference to my work 'pushing BF' on
people who couldn't or hadn't made up their mind on Night shift. Initially I
was (although I didn't show it)Upset, but one of the Mothers quietly told me,
after if it hadn't been for my encouragement and support of so many people,
encourage breastfeeding there would be many more children with illnesses
related to formula feeding in that area. This lady had been one of my
sucesses, as I gave mothers information about the pros and cons of
breastfeeding their babies while I was with them in Labour. Many hadn't
really thought what way they wished to feed- caught up in the 'Miracle of
them having a baby'.
So don't feel to bab about it. You have challenged them to Think- maybe
they will be more informed next time they give out information about what is
best for that baby!
Keep smiling- it's the future generation that benefits. hopefully they may
think better for that 'extra development(by breast feeding)of brain cells.

Phyllis,
Oh boy, that made me laugh. Let me tell you what happened to me the other
day. During Special Care Nursery rounds, one of the nurses asked me if I had
ever been called a Nipple Nazi. I was quite taken aback, but I came back
with a good one; "No, they usually call me the Breastmaster".
The nursed laughed so hard that she almost cried.
