Hi all,
I know there have been previous discussions on Paxil, but I wanted to bring
it up again. My son is 5 months old and I have been on Paxil since the day
prior to his birth. I did have fluctuations in dosage until about 2 months
ago. My baby has always been calm and easy to deal with. No sleep problems
whatsoever. I realize his new irritable behavior could be attributed to many
things, but my PNP thinks perhaps, that it could be the Paxil, since I did
ask about it, and wants the baby to have a plasma level checked for Paxil.
My midwife talked with the PNP and she said that a 5 month baby would not
metabolize the drug as fast as a newborn and that tremors, irritability and
jumpiness have been reported some.
I searched for more information tonight, but there doesn't seem to be much
or what I am looking for. Any thoughts on this?
