Kathleen,
I'd love to wear a LACTNET t-shirt. Count me in for an XL. Where do we send
our money and how much ?
I feel as if I'm on a roller-coaster ride with LACTNET. I'm organizing my day
around getting on line. Is anyone else drowning in paper ? I print out the
mail that I want to file. But there's no time to file and there's piles of
paper everywhere. I ran out of paper and started printing on the back of the
sheets that have all that routing information. The first couple of weeks I
was reading the mail on line at hideous cost (well, I'm new at this). Then I
caught on that you can use a flash session (on AOL) to download mail and read
it off-line for free.
I haven't figured out how to connect to Home Pages or create my own Home Page
(whatever that is) - maybe someone could enlighten me. I borrowed books on
the Internet from the library but I haven't had time to read them. Where will
all this end ????
I tried telling people at work about LACTNET but their eyes glazed over at
mention of a world wide breastfeeding network (my second job is at an
outpatient substance abuse clinic). None of them use a computer, let alone a
modem, and e-mail is literally something from space. I think we're all pretty
sophisticated - maybe that's the hallmark of an LC - someone who's ready to
break new ground. Anyway, it's an enthralling adventure.
Thanks for listening. I'm off my soapbox.
