Dear wise ones
It's been ages since i posted, have been no mail for a while...
2 questions:
I am working with a baby with mild failure to thrive, he is nursing
reasonably weel with a SNS and his Mum is expressing about 8 times a day,
using an automatic electric pump.
She has never had an ample milk supply, which i put down to poor feeding
(the kid has no real rhythm) but she is only getting 30-45 ml a time at
pumping.
Is there a big difference in types of auto pumps?
Am looking at other factors but would like to get another pump going if it
seems appropriate.
number 2:
Have been asked to see a woman planning to adopt a baby due in August, she
has bf before, 20 years ago, and has gone thru menopause. I can find
references galore to adoptive nursing, but has anyone worked with
post-menopausal women who have produced reasonable quantities of milk?
Thanks for your help
