The January issue of Natural Health magazine has a great story of a child
who was diagnosed with severe autism at age 3. The title of the story is
"Reaching Kolby." It doesn't mention how he was fed, but discussed were
allergies or food sensitivities, ineffective digestive systems, inability
to fully absorb nutrients, all leading to nutrient deficiencies. These
would all point to the benefits of breastfeeding on a child's health.
The mother in this story used complementary medicine along with
conventional autism treatments and Kolby is doing very well now. "Today,
at 4 years of age Kolby laughs, plays, and interacts with others. Gone is
the lack of eye contact. Gone is the tunnel of silence."
