Pat,
In Australia, too, we are not subject to the FDA rulings as we are a
different country. When mothers ask about Parlodel and I read them
information about the risks and the RDA ruling, they invariably want to know
why this drug is still being prescribed here. They are aghast that is was
prescribed for them. I cite them the references, with page numbers, and
help them work through want they want to do and how to discuss the issues
with their dr. Some of them are already not happy about the Parlodel and
wanted to go off it, before talking with me.
Sometimes an alert pharmacist will telephone a doctor to query the
script, but I suspect this is infrequent.
We can only dream of an ideal world where breastfeedign is valued,
effectviely supported, and ignorance goes out the window!
