Pat,
I don't know of any herbal alternatives to Ritalin but I have recently become
aware of another reason for an ADD or ADHD diagnosis.
Symmetric tonic neck reflex (STNR) can cause the same type symptoms. You
might consider going to the Miriam Bender Diagnostic Center web site. The
book Stopping Hyperactivity - A New Solution by Nancy O'Dell, Ph.D, and
Patricia Cook, Ph.D., is extremely interesting. I don't have the figures in
front of me but there are a large percentage of children and adults who have
been diagnosed with ADD and ADHD when in reality, they have a STNR problem.
The book outlines an exercise program that has been quite successful.
