Gail,
What a sad situation.  I think this is one situation where it is
important to remember that baby need for having a mother outweighs
baby's need for its mother's milk.  I would certainly hope she would
not delay her chemo in order to provide more milk for the baby.  I
know they test blood for various chemo "markers". Could the milk
also be tested if there is a measurable marker for her type of CA?
Is this a situation where she could get milk from a milk bank?
On a lighter note, I remember when a friend who was nursing a 6
month old was diagnosed with CA and had to wean and get chemo.  Baby
had been a "two sider" when nursing and when taking the bottle, he
would take about half, sit up, turn around and take the last half
laying on mom's other arm!
I remember the horror of finding a grape size tumor less than 6
months after a "clean" mammo, so I can only imagine how scared this
mom must be.
