We had a request from a Muslim mother re: Carnation formula. She says that it
contains fat from pork & that she cannot use it--wanted a note from Dr. for
WIC to OK another AIM. Of course, this ped encouraged the mom to breastfeed
without supplementation--she had her baby fed in nsy every night that she was
in the hospital! This Dr. would like WIC to stop giving out AIM & encourage
more breastfeeding.

Does this product contain pork products? Would this be a valid reason for WIC
to supply another brand of AIM?
