"5) how superior is domperidone for this situation?
6) could this mom call jack newman for a consult? do you do phone or email
consults?"
Domperidone is quite superior to metoclopramide because it doesn't produce
the side effects that metoclopramide does. If it does, it hardly ever does,
and I have treated hundreds of women with domperidone without any
significant side effects except headache, which is uncommon, and responds to
a decrease in dose. Some of these women were treated for months with
domperidone.
I do try to respond to whomever contacts me. I prefer email because:
1. No phone tag
2. I have a written record of what the mother wrote and what I write back
3. Given the number of long distance calls I do a month, (and the number of
phones in the US that say "this number does not accept collect calls", I
would have to mortgage the homestead.
