Oh, Esther, there you go cracking me up again!

< imposing breastfeeding hours is as ridiculous as imposing hours
for other natural functions such as peeing.  Imagine if HCP's suggested
that humans pee every 5.5 hours for only 7 seconds each time.  what
would happen to our urinary system?  there would arise local support
groups  to handle the masses of people seeking help and eventually a new
profession called Certified Urination Consultants would be born.>

I have no explanation for your 2 day old formula fed baby latching on
like a champ at the first try other than that he knew "which side his
bread was buttered on" as we Ohioan's used to say.

As for his mom's milk supply, besides the high prolactin activity at the
end of pregnancy finally liberated to do its job at the cellular level by
removal of progesterone inhibition by 8 hours postpartum, sounds as
though she is blessed with lots of milk making tissue, easy to reach milk
sinuses and well-everted nipples!
