Just a short little observation on medications in childbirth. Too many
times, I see first time moms (especially) who are almost given no choice -
in the form of no education that they actually have the option to refuse
medication or as in the case w/my daughter, made to feel wrong by chosing
not to have that epidural. Although, they were a little less 'condescending'
when I was there (while she was in labor) the attitude was still - this is
stupid and unnecesary to refuse medication.
So in some cases, it's not entirely the moms fault that is where they end
up. My daughter just happens to call me often and listen when I explained
the difference between a birth with medication and the ones without. And she
is more scared of needles than pain!

PS. Barb W. - the wonder mom of the bride (Not), has no responds coming
back, the postage went up and all the envelopes are being returned!?! - and
here I thought we'd made it without a hitch (oh yeah, the Maid of Honor got
military duty and can't be there), not sure I want to see what else can go
wrong in the next 8 days.
