Dear Laura, I can go even further.  It was my frustration as an RN/LC in
dealing with BF problems that drs didn't know what to do with, that sent me
back to school to become a nurse practitioner.  RN/APN (advanced practice
nurse or nurse practitioner)/IBCLC is a neat combination to have :-)  And I
think MD/IBCLC is very useful too.  I see LCs really as independent health
care providers (like a nurse practitioner), but because we have NO power or
influence it makes other initials necessary :-(  Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
