My edition of The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding, (1981)  which once belonged
to my mother, outlines 'The Juice Jar Method'. The only additional
instructions are to wet the breast to ensure a good seal, rub the rim of the
jar with a cool cloth to cool it , and to put a cool cloth around the warm
jar once the breast is in to hasten the jar cooling.
What a great idea for a cheap, instant breastpump!
And if you look on p330, there is a photo of my baby sister :-)
