Interesting story: my grandmother is eight-three and white. Every year on her
birthday, she goes out to lunch with her African-American "twin," Harriet.
Harriet's mother breastfed both girls at the same time because my
grandmother's mother's physician believed that she didn't have enough milk.
Harriet and my grandmother are extremely bonded in a special way.

As another note, I nurse my two year old niece whenever I babysit her and my
sister (mother of my niece) has already babysat for our 6 week old nephew
while his mother went on a job interview and she nursed him while his mama
was gone.

I am a big believer in co-nursing, as I call it :-)
