Does anyone ever come up to a pregnant woman and say "your placenta =
isn't strong enough?"
sure, susan, right here in the good ole' us of a. i am going to a birth
tomorrow. how do i iknow it will be tomorrow? after all, the due date is
friday. well, the induction is tomorrow. otherwise, "the baby will be ten
pounds" - oh god help us, what a tragedy that would be! we just know this
poor woman's placenta isn't strong enough.
as fewer and fewer babies are allowed the courtesy of informing us of THEIR
choice of due date, we run into more problems than ever. why am i going to
this birth tomorrow ? mother had such a staggeringly poor experience with
baby no. 1 that she quit after 6 weeks of agony (called me too late, didn't
she). she figures with me there is guide that initial experience, everything
will be okay. i hope she listens well. meanwhile, she is birthing at one of
the worst hospitals in the area (and with the competition, that is saying a
LOT). guess they are in for a surprise up there tomorrow. . . .
carol brussel IBCLC - lc doula in training - wonder if they will want to put
formula on her nipples? hee hee hee - i can't wait!
