I learned just this past Christmas when I was home for the holidays that
I have a "Milk brother". My mom nursed (once) the bf little boy of a
friend of hers back when we were both babies (under 7 mos.).
I would MUCH rather give my daughter some other human's milk than "SIN"
(as formula has recently been called!). In today's day and age of AIDS,
Hep B/C etc., I'd pasteurize it, unless it was a VERY close person
(perhaps my twin sister, who I practically live with, know very well,
etc.)...but at least it'd still be the right fats, in the right
proportions, the right proteins, etc. I know it'd loose the antibodies
etc., but it'd still, even as a "dead" milk, be superior, IMHO than the
"SINs" out there.
Fio.
