I am very upset at being quoted by anyone - especially as I have never
agreed to be posted on a website! I understood the questions I received
were from mothers who I would e-mail a direct answer to.
Usually I dialog with the mothers - asking my "13 questions" and providing
a little help on the first reply, but what I'm really trying to do with my
questions, and I say this explicitly to them, is to be able to provide
information for their particular problem. I also ask them where they live
so that I can refer them to a La Leche League Leader and an LC (I go to
LLLI website and find names and telephone numbers and copy/paste them to
the message, and look in our listing for IBCLCs).
As I have been doing this in Spanish for a few years for La Leche League
International, and the mothers from South America and Mexico often have no
one nearby, I do give more information than many would consider wise as it
is this forum (e-mail) or nothing!
I'm very upset but also know there are moms out there (and dads - one had a
wife with very bleeding nipples and we dialogued until I was able to direct
him to an LLLL in Mexico thanks to our Spanish communication system,
enLLLaces) who need the help.
At the same time, I don't want to be used/ridiculed/misquoted/etc. I'm
still thinking about this and may just refuse to answer any questions
except those through the LLLI website in Spanish!
