I excerpted this from Medscape, with THEIR spelling, from what was for
me, a very detailed and complicated article on obesity, for physicians
and pharmacists.
"In addition, evidence suggests that breast feeding provides a
significant protective factor against the development of obesity. In a
corss-sectional survey of 9357 German children aged 5-6 years, the
prevalence of obesity in children who had never been breastfed was 4.5%
compared with 2.8% in children who were breastfed. There was also a
dose-response effect for the duration of breast feeding on the prevalence
of obesity."

Worth sifting through for those so inclined.
