I received a call today from a mom nursing her 8 and 1/2 month old. She
had found a breast lump and has been seen by a surgeon and a specialist
involved in blood dyscrasias. She has been told that she needs to wean
and undergo a lump removal and extensive blood and bone marrow studies.
I am completely unaware of this type of lesion. Mom would prefer to keep
nursing until at least a year, but needs info. for her specialist who
said, "Are you going to be one of those moms who nurses till her child
is 4 years old". Please e-mail me asap as mom is very concerned, scared.
