One of my clients is taking a trip to India in a month. She has a 2 month
old, who has been taking a bottle with pumped milk. I met here for the
first time this week. We are working with him, to get him to take the
breast, without success so far. I did offer some suggestions and counseled
patience. He has been willing to latch on all along, but will not suckle.
She is torn about whether to wean the baby before the trip. She is not sure
about how the plug situation will work out in India for her double electric
pump. I told her that I thought there were adaptors she could use. I also
told her that it would be in the baby's best interest to continue with
breastfeeding or breastmilk feeding through this trip.
Any suggestions about how to get this two month old to the breast--and any
wisdom about the plug situation?
