Hi, all.
In the hospital where I work we have 2 operating rooms and do our own
C/sections, too. When the C/section is done, we wheel the Mom's bed in,
move her to the bed, place the new baby in her arms and wheel them
together to her room and do her recovery there. That way family members
can participate just as they would with a vaginal delivery. And Mom can
breastfeed her new baby as soon as she wants. The "labor" nurse and/or
the "baby" nurse can help if needed. (Or whoever else the Mom wants!)
The baby remains in the room, too---no separation! Some things about
work are really nice!
