Aloha Everyone,
I haven't posted for awhile, just been following the threads.
I would appreciate some drug info as I don't have Dr. Hale's recent
edition---shame on me. Time for me to get it!
The antibiotic is Tatifloxacin, sold as Tequin in the U.S. My understanding
is that it is a fairly new one.
Mom is allergic to pencillin, and her doctor wanted to start her off with
something strong, rather than weak due to her past history with sinus
infections. Doctor was concerned with this medication and didn't want mom to
nurse.
Baby is 9 months. Mom has plenty of milk in the freezer to get her through a
10 day course of the antibiotic, but she is concerned about baby refusing the
breast after 10 days of only bottles. Also baby still nurses at night.
I would appreciate any info. Maybe mom can nurse around the drug depending
on when it peaks, etc.
thank you.
Aloha,
