OK, energized by all of the recent test takers and ILCA goers, and prompted
by several moms I have recently worked with, I am flirting yet again with the
question of whether I would want to convert my status eventually from lay bf
busybody to certified bf something or other.
So my question: anybody out there who is IBCLC who got there hours in some
way that was NOT by already being an RN (or MD, or DO, or etc) and was NOT
through one of the major organizations (LLL, NMAA, NCT, etc)?
That is, anybody out there succeed in accumulating the staggering amount of
experience you all got in some private, one-off arrangement? Somebody
referred families to you, somebody supervised you, something like that?
If you are out there I would be grateful to hear from you, whether via the
list or privately. And I guess if you are not out there I have gotten an
answer to this question too--
Pensively,
Elisheva Urbas, in NYC
