How about ' is not physiologically necessary' (while I like your writing
too, it feels a bit like being told one isn't thinking and so I'd opt for a
way that feels less critical to me.....)
I also remind Drs etc that moms routinely breastfeed following c-section
births using anesthesia. Once mom is awake enough to do so. Having it
pointed out that they are already having moms breastfeed following surgery in
other situations helps just make it regular for all applicable ones I think.
