I think I have to disagree with Hale on this one.  Many calcium channel
blockers are just fine.  In particular nifedipine is a good choice of this
type of drug for nursing mtohers.

The question is "Why does the doctor choose the latest hottest drug about
which so little is known?"  Is this drug really an improvement, or did the
drug rep just visit him?

Any physician whose first choice of a drug is one that requires weaning is,
ipso facto, unsupportive of breastfeeding.  Also not knowledgeable.  Like
there are about 2000 drugs available for the treatment of high blood
pressure, 90% of them  quite compatible with breastfeeding.
